As one might imagine, there's quite a bit of interest in our small club!
The membership process involves sponsorship, some paperwork, playing as a
guest at applicant / sponsor days and other days, getting to know us,
cultivating supporters, and patience. For more details, please connect
with your potential sponsor, who can
contact our membership chairperson for assistance. |
A brief history of the club:
With some assistance from Geoff, our "club historian," and many of
you, this section will come to life soon. If any member has interesting
historical tidbits and/or artifacts about the club, including vintage photos, etc..., please click
the contact us button and let us know!

Letter from Charlie Hurme [honored at our Nov 2005 Dinner
Dance]:
November
15, 2005
I wish to thank the NTC for making my 93rd birthday a memorable event, on
November 5th at the Northport Yacht Club.
The clock memento and my obituary inscribed therein is most flattering and I
can't believe I did not compose it myself. Have enjoyed my 44 years as a member
and treasure most pleasant memories of past and present associations with the
wonderful members.
It would be nice to be 90 again. At that age I could play volleyball,
windsurf, drive at night and balance my checkbook, and win a National singles
tennis tournament. This year I had to settle for a doubles National -- if you
can't lick 'em, join 'em -- is a good adage.
I plan to continue playing and hope that the members can put up with my drop
shots, underhand serve, reverse spinlobs and bad line calls.
Sincerely,
Charlie Hurme
Huntington Town Elder
Guest rules:
A guest is permitted to play no more
than seven times in a season, including no more than two
weekend days. Members must sign their guest's name in the guest book before entering the courts.
Please note: Existing applicants for membership may
also play on Applicant / Sponsor Days [there are typically three, each year].
These appearances are freebies - they do not count towards the seven guest-appearance maximum - so be sure to motivate your sponsor on these days
